I am new to gardening and would like to know this: is it possible to mulch potatoes with fresh pine sawdust (already zabatsat)?

If there is any kind of organic matter through the layer, then it’s possible, and not just with sawdust, but sawdust plus organic matter (1: 3 approximately), in this regard, in my opinion, shavings are better, otherwise the sawdust coalesces and the air stops circulating normally. In general, pine sawdust (and all coniferous ones) decay for a rather long time, especially if they are embedded in the ground, I know from my own experience.
